Overview
Housecall Pro is a leading SaaS platform for home service businesses, trusted by thousands of field technicians and office staff to manage their daily operations. My role focused on redesigning the core dashboard and data visualization experience with a mobile-first mindset. The goal was to improve clarity, reduce cognitive load, and make key business insights more accessible—especially for pros on the go. By reworking the layout, tightening the visual hierarchy, and refining UI patterns, we aimed to elevate both aesthetics and functionality. The result was a cleaner, more intuitive interface that helped users quickly understand performance metrics, track job progress, and take action with confidence.
As the Lead Product Designer on this project, I was responsible for driving the end-to-end design strategy and execution of the dashboard and data visualization redesign. Working closely with product managers, engineers, and customer success teams, I led the effort to reimagine how field service professionals interact with performance insights—ensuring the experience was clean, actionable, and mobile-optimized from the ground up.
Conducted UX audits and heuristic evaluations of the legacy dashboard to identify friction points and usability gaps
Reworked data visualization components to better support quick decision-making and real-time performance tracking
Collaborated with engineering to ensure design feasibility and pixel-level accuracy in implementation
Created a scalable design framework to support future data modules and evolving business needs

Their tools empower field technicians and office staff to run more efficient, professional operations—whether in the field or behind a desk. Mobile first & platform agnostic
By rethinking the dashboard with a mobile first approach, I designed a responsive experience that gave field pros faster access to key insights. The updated layout reduced friction, improved task completion, and maintained full functionality across all devices.


Real-time Visibility for Smarter Dispatching
I designed the live tracking view to give office staff a clear, immediate understanding of where each field rep is and where they are headed. This feature reduces scheduling guesswork, improves customer communication, and helps teams respond faster when plans change in the field.

Dark Mode
I introduced a dark mode theme to support pros working in low-light environments and reduce eye strain during long days in the field. The design prioritizes contrast and legibility without sacrificing brand consistency or visual hierarchy. This alternate theme ensures the dashboard remains just as functional and clear no matter the lighting condition or user preference.


Flexible Layouts That Adapt to Real Workflows
I designed the customizable dashboard to give front office staff the flexibility to organize information around their daily priorities. Whether tracking job progress, managing estimates, or monitoring field activity, teams can tailor the layout to surface what matters most. This reduces context switching, improves visibility across operations, and helps admins stay one step ahead throughout the day.
